Una Vita Straordinaria
Nel 1904 il colonnello John Jacob Astor IV, figlio di Caroline Astor, inaugura il The St. Regis New York. L’hotel riscuote un successo immediato e viene definito dal New York Times “il più raffinato in America”. Inventore e imprenditore lungimirante, John Jacob Astor si assicurò che al St. Regis lusso e progresso tecnologico andassero di pari passo facendo dotare tutte le camere di telefono. Astor morì durante il naufragio del Titanic il 15 aprile 1912. È trascorso oltre un secolo, ma l’eredità di uno dei passeggeri più ricchi e più famosi del Titanic continua a vivere grazie alla crescita e all’evoluzione costanti di St. Regis.
